I think it’s important that you teach kids how to dine correctly. Sincerely, Kevin Ngem Hancock Elementary School Amy Goldberg, M.D. Scott Charles Founders Cradle to Grave Temple University Hospital Dear Dr. Goldberg and Mr. Charles, You make such a great team. I hope to someday be like you both. The way you both try to get the victims’ families and friends to move forward with their lives after such a tragedy is hard to do. The way you decided to ... do safety lessons about guns and violence is very thoughtful of you both. Sincerely, Dana Zayas Hope Partnership for Education Heather McDanel Executive Director Students Run Philly Style Dear Ms. McDanel, I think it is very important to stay fit and healthy as a child, teen, or even adult. ... Because of you, I look at health differently, in a better way. You have shown me that it is good to keep yourself fit and also help others stay fit. You are a hero to kids everywhere. Sincerely, Hannah Bickert La Salle Academy Raina Merchant, M.D. Director Social Media & Health Innovation Lab University of Pennsylvania Dear Dr. Merchant, I love how you spread important information about health to the public and how you save lives that way. ... You and your team also found a problem with AEDs [automated external defibrillators]: Even though they can save lives, the rescuers may not know where to find one when there is an emergency. So you organized a contest, which was for people to take pictures of AEDs around the City of Philadelphia. This contest convinced a lot of citizens to go out and find AEDs and learn about the importance of them. Now, a 911 operator can tell a caller where to find an AED, all because of you. You inspire me to do what you have done. I want to become a doctor, and you have already convinced me to keep working hard to fulfill my dream. Respectfully, Khalesha Williams St. Martin de Porres Catholic School 39
