Trude Haecker serves as the medical director of Reach Out and Read Greater Philadelphia. The organization partners with doctors to “prescribe books” and encourage families to read together. She is the medical director for international patient services at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a clinical associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Haecker received her medical degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Roland Lamb is the director of the Office of Addiction Services for Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services. He has worked in the field of alcohol and substance abuse dependence treatment for 40 years, serving in a variety of roles such as counselor, therapist, program director, and trainer. Mr. Lamb is an adjunct professor at the University of the Sciences and an instructor for Villanova University’s Alcohol and Drug Counseling Continuing Education program. He earned a master’s degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix. Cy Maramangalam is the program manager of Cadence Youth Cycling, a youth development program of the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. Mr. Maramangalam started his career as a Philadelphia high school math teacher. He also worked at the Bicycle Coalition as a youth educator and at the Alliance for Climate Education as a regional program manager. He has two bachelor of science degrees—in human factors engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and in mathematics from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Mr. Maramangalam earned a certificate from the Nonprofit Ascending Leadership Program at Bryn Mawr College. Lily Yeh is an artist who cofounded The Village of Arts and Humanities in North Philadelphia in 1989. The organization has transformed more than 120 lots and vacant homes into gardens, parks, and murals. In 2003, she founded the nonprofit organization Barefoot Artists, Inc., which works to train and empower people around the world to use art to transform their communities. Born in China, Ms. Yeh immigrated to the United States in 1963 and earned a master’s degree in fine arts at the University of Pennsylvania. 32 About our leaders(continued)
