recovery, not only in [people with an addiction], but in the community.” He says stress is often a cause of addiction. Many people use drugs to control stress, but that’s not the way to handle it. “Stress is when you’re overwhelmed. You feel like you are drown- ing,” he says. “It is important to know what stress is, but it is even more important to learn the right way to cope with it.” He suggests children listen, follow instructions, ask questions, and spend time with family and friends. Mr. Lamb says he relieves stress by listening to music—especially jazz. He also likes to read books about historical events.
