Dr. A. Scott McNeal fosters culturally competent health delivery networks as the vice president and chief medical officer for Delaware Valley Community Health, Inc., which operates six health centers in Greater Philadelphia. He also serves as senior vice president of medical affairs and chief academic officer at North Philadelphia Health Systems. In addition to serving on numerous community and organization boards, Dr. McNeal is an associate professor at The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Sarah Martinez-Helfman is the founding executive director of Eagles Youth Partnership (EYP), which she has headed since 1995. In 2011, the Philadelphia Eagles Football Club was recognized by Beyond Sport as the top sports team in the world for its social impact off the field, largely through the work of Eagles Youth Partnership. Ms. Martinez- Helfman and her EYP team help at-risk youth beat the odds by focusing on vision care, literacy, and play. Dr. John A. Rich is chair of health management and policy at the Drexel University School of Public Health. He is a primary care and public health doctor whose work has focused on serving one of the nation’s most ignored and underserved populations— African-American men in urban settings. In 2006, Dr. Rich was granted a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship. In awarding this distinction, the foundation cited his work to design “new models of health care that stretch across the boundaries of public health, education, social service, and justice systems to engage young men in caring for themselves and their peers.” Lucas Rivera is an artist, dancer, poet, and musician who seeks to express the varied influences of urban and Latin cultures and raise community awareness of the positive role art can play in societal change. He has exhibited and performed at community events, taught in public and private schools, and presented workshops at universities and cultural art centers. Mr. Rivera, who holds a master’s degree in arts education from Temple University, is executive director of Artistas y Músicos Latino Americanos, or Artists and Musicians of Latin America, and also has collaborated with community and city organizations to design and create murals in North Philadelphia.
