She says her grandfather who lived in India motivated her to help people who don’t have enough to eat. He was a generous person who lived simply and gave his time and money to help others, she says. Children also can help others by voicing their concerns about hunger. They can write letters to people in power or a newspaper editor. They can also start or support food drives and donate healthy food. Hunger is an ongoing concern, Ms. Thampi- Sen says.
