Her interest in helping communities become healthier goes beyond bikes. “I was at a recreational center that sold food in vending machines,” she says of one of her projects. People would work out or swim there and then would grab cheese-flavored snacks, honey buns, or sodas afterward. “We worked with the center to put healthy food in the vending machines. The recreational center actually made more money then, because people wanted to be healthy. The money went to schol- arships for kids to be able to attend summer camps,” she says. Ms. Jones advises kids to get outside and play. Ride bikes, run, and walk a lot, she says. “Playing and being active and healthy helps us be happier, too,” she says. Ms. Jones has two activities that help keep her in shape. One of them is running. She sometimes even runs a 26.2-mile marathon. More recently, she rediscovered her passion for climbing and twirling on ropes. She now works out twice a week at a circus school in Philadelphia. — By Alland Adorno, Analisse Arrivello, Aiyana Colon, Jayden Ocasio, Ashly Presinal, and Jaylynne Reyes William Cramp Fit Flyer 15 Illustration by Ashly Presinal, William Cramp Fit Flyer
