Megha Kulshreshtha is executive director of Food Connect, which she founded in Philadelphia in 2014. Previously, she worked in finance for Aberdeen Asset Management and J.P. Morgan. She also is an owner of Konark Development, a real estate and development company in Philadelphia. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science and a master’s degree in political science from Villanova University. Meg MacCurtin is executive director of Greener Partners, an organization focused on teaching people the value of eating fresh fruits and vegetables and encouraging them to grow their own gardens. She was a high school art teacher for eight years before she turned to community gardening as a way to educate young people. She has helped Greener Partners expand its reach from a single school garden at Girard College to programs at more than 100 schools, benefiting about 10,000 students annually. She has a backyard garden herself and enjoys cooking healthy meals for her family. She runs almost every day and likes to take part in races. Waffiyyah Murray is manager of the Better Bike Share Partnership, which works with several organizations to make bike share systems more available to low-income neighborhoods and people of color. In earlier jobs, she worked for the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia as education program manager leading the city’s Safe Routes to School program. Ms. Murray has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Temple University. She was born and raised in Philadelphia and enjoys exploring the city she loves on her bike. Nancy Dung Nguyen is co-founder and executive director of VietLead, a nonprofit organization that seeks to empower the Vietnamese community in Philadelphia and South Jersey. Urban gardening is an important part of the group’s work. Previously, she was a branch manager and then executive director of BPSOS-Delaware Valley, a nonprofit that provides services to the Vietnamese immigrant and refugee community. She has also served on the board of Freedom, Inc., a Wisconsin-based grassroots Southeast Asian organization, and on the advisory board of 1Love Movement, a national organization working to end deportations in the Southeast Asian community. Ms. Nguyen earned a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College and a master’s degree in Southeast Asian Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. 39
