Through Healthy NewsWorks, student reporters acquire skills to identify reliable information and apply the reporting skills they’ve learned to share their findings with thousands of readers through their school newspapers.
Two of our student reporters, whose work has appeared both in their school newspapers and By Kids, For Kids magazine, share their experiences with Healthy NewsWorks.
“Healthy NewsWorks offered me so many opportunities, including reporting, writing, interviewing professionals, drawing, facilitating conversations, creating videos, and making a song.”

“I became more confident talking to people and speaking on camera. I also developed better writing skills from all the articles I wrote for the newspaper and the films we did.”
—Aria Bucci (right), fifth grader, East Norriton Middle School

To keep our school partnerships strong and growing, we set a three-year goal to raise $1 million through our Building a Healthy Future campaign. Success will mean we will be on track to reach some 3,000 students annually by the 2027–28 school year.
Thank you for supporting our programming and the future generation of healthy and informed students. We appreciate everyone who has already contributed or made a commitment to our fundraising campaign. If you’ve still yet to join us or wish to give more, we look forward to you joining us in our goal to Build a Healthy Future!
