During summer break, a group of Catholic Partnership Schools campers spent several afternoons as reporters.
Healthy NewsWorks Program Associate Steve Riggs teamed up with a St. Joseph’s Pro-Cathedral School teacher, Danielle Guernon, to run a mini summer journalism program. The campers asked to research and write about exercise. Steve arranged for South Jersey fitness instructors John Chino Ramos and Juni Bolaños to be interviewed.
The instructors discussed ways to make exercise part of daily routines and how exercise can be a way to empower yourself.
The camp reporters published their interviews on the By Kids, For Kids platform and created a short podcast in collaboration with Rodney Whittenberg of MelodyVision, who partners with Healthy NewsWorks on student video productions.
