Investing in children’s health and literacy
Healthy NewsWorks is a unique health and literacy program that works with elementary and middle school student journalists in under-resourced schools to develop their powers of inquiry and enable them to share accurate health information with their community.
Community partners have played a meaningful role for more than 20 years in helping us develop this next generation of researchers, interviewers, writers, and critical thinkers.
These partners make an investment in the future of our student journalists, directly supporting K–8 students discovering ways to make themselves and their communities healthier. During the 2024–25 school year, community partners are acknowledged in connection with three student-led capstone initiatives:
- Healthy Conversations. Recognition as part of our Healthy Conversations event, a relaxed evening of food and conversation on April 29, 2025.
- By Kids, For Kids: Making Good Decisions. Recognition in the Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 editions of our By Kids, For Kids magazine, including sponsorship of a health tip in one or both issues.
- Student-created videos. Your organization will receive a mention in one of more videos building on the Healthy NewsWorks 2024–25 theme “Making Good Decisions.”
