Everything In Its Place is about a girl, Nicky, who is a bookworm. Every day she chooses to go to the library instead of recess. One day she makes friends with Maggie. They learn that it’s fun to go to the library along with playing with other kids at recess.

Healthy Eagle reporters enjoyed reading this book because it taught about valuing friendship, enjoying reading, and accepting yourself for who you are. The story also highlighted how Nicky enjoyed reading different types of poetry. She felt as though she didn’t belong but learned to accept her own differences and know that it was OK.

One reporter said she liked how the story “taught me a lesson about being OK with being different from others.

Nicky found a good friend in Maggie to help her realize that.”

The illustrations were very detailed and helped the reader see how Nicky enjoyed the library.

The reporters would recommend this book to students in grades K to 5. One student mentioned that it is a heartwarming story that teaches a lesson about friendship and the importance of kindness to others.
