School is More Than a Building
By Kelley Donnerย
This picture book teaches that schools are communities, not just buildings. At school, you learn, you feel welcome and safe, you have fun, and you can use your imagination. According to the book, schools keep kids healthy and allow us to be unique. As a part of a community, everyone takes care of each other.
Cub Reporters in Mrs. Quilesโ third-grade class read and reviewed the book. Students shared that the book felt as though it was written for students in pre-Kindergarten to second grade. They felt the words and vocabulary were really simple and easy to understand and the pictures really went well with the text.ย
