March 2020 … Maggie, a sixth grader at East Norriton Middle School, kicked off the Health Beat Live, a video series focused on COVID-19 and related issues by Healthy NewsWorks reporters. She interviewed Dr. Walter Tsou, past president of the American Public Health Association and a former health commissioner for the City of Philadelphia. The interview, which was conducted on March 18, can be seen in two videos: “How can people protect themselves against the coronavirus vaccine?” and “How does the coronavirus make people sick?”

Maggie has been a health reporter since she was a third grader at Cole Manor Elementary School.
