Temple coach shares life lessons
June 2016…Healthy Hero staff from St. Veronica recently had the opportunity to interview Fran Dunphy, head coach of the Temple Owls basketball team, and rising senior Daniel Dingle, who plays forward and guard. Coach Dunphy told the reporters about his coaching style (demanding) and also how he makes sure that his players know that it is “an honor and privilege” to play college basketball because many other people would like to be in their position. Coach Dunphy and Dan also talked about the value of having a positive attitude, moving forward when something goes wrong, and the importance of team spirit. Overall, the journalists learned about some of the characteristics needed to be successful in playing college sports, and in life in general. Read the full article.
