Jayden’s Impossible Garden

This book is about a boy who lives in the city. He loves being outside. He befriends a neighbor and they work together to grow plants. His mom doesn’t believe they can grow plants in the city.

The cub reporters in Ms. Crump’s third-grade class enjoyed the book because it showed them that you can always love nature everywhere you go. You can also recycle old containers to plant flowers in and decorate the outside.

“This book taught me that you can al- ways make green spaces anywhere,” one cub reporter said.

The reporters felt that the artwork helped the reader understand the story and see the setting. The pictures were colorful and had a lot of details. “It was fun to see how the garden grew in the pictures,” another cub reporter said.

The cub reporters recommend this book for elementary school students. The book had a great story with a lesson that everyone can learn from. It made them want to create their own garden in the city. Perhaps it will make you want to grow one, too.
